Daughter of Shri. Ambatt Kandappa Menon and Smt. Kulappura Yezhuvath Rugmini Amma, was born in a small town named Chittur in Palakkad district. Did her schooling at Govt. Victoria Girls High School, Chittur. After taking degree in Music from Govt. College Chittur, she joined All India Radio, Trichur in 1965 as Programme Announcer. Her’s was the first LIVE announcement heard from Trichur station. She resigned the job in May 1966. On 24th March 1970, married Padmarajan, who was working as Programme Announcer in Trichur AIR. She has written articles in news papers and magazines.Her stories has been broadcast through AIR Trivandrum station. After Padmarajan’s death she wrote a book about him named Padmarajan ente Gandharvan, which was published by Imprint books, Kollam. It was released by the renowned writer Shri M T Vasudevan Nair, giving a copy to Shri. Sreekumaran Thampy, renowned Lyricist, on Padmarajan’s birth day, on the 23rd of May 1993 at the Tagore Theatre Trivandrum.

Did her schooling at Mannam Memorial Residential High School Trivandrum. She took Bsc and MSc Degree in Mathematics from Mar Ivanios College Trivandrum. After that she did Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Software at ER&DC, Trivandrum centre. Now she is working in Tandem, Trivandrum.
